The babies are getting their first taste of grass today! If you e been following along in my stories, you’ll see that I haven’t had a hen go broody yet and it’s time to really start thinking about chicks for next years eggs. So I broke down and bought a few to raise myself. Letting them out next to me and having the other hens come see what is going on will allow me to integrate them with the older girls better. They won’t be complete strangers. My dream would be for one of my hens to come over and take them under her wing, but I’m afraid that is wishful thinking.
