Just start… start small. It’s not that serious! Decorating and furnishing your home should be fun and fulfilling, not terrifying and overwhelming. ✔️ Hang something on the wall, it won’t ruin anything. Patching a hole is easy (just keep some touch up paint on hand) and there is something about getting that first thing up on the wall that makes you want to keep going. ✔️ You aren’t going to ruin your home if you choose the wrong paint color, it’s just paint! Have fun with it. ✔️ Trust your gut and block out the noise. Instagram and Pinterest are great for inspiration, but they can also lead to being overwhelmed with too many ideas and no actual direction. Sometimes you have to just listen to yourself and understand what it is that YOU like. ✔️ Do not design your home for hypothetical potential future homeowners. You might as well enjoy your home while you can! ✔️ Try your best not to follow trends just because they are trending. If you love it, go for it, but do some soul searching first to find out if it really feels like you. ✔️ More expensive doesn’t always mean better. One of my superpowers is to find inexpensive versions of designer items, and I always feel proud when it turns out better than I imagined. There’s a time and a place to invest in pieces, but don’t feel shamed if it’s not in the budget. ✔️ remove the pressure off yourself to make it perfect and enjoy the journey, mistakes and all! 🤍 What else would you add!?
