I’m definitely not saying our houses should always be a mess but they should be lived in and loved. It’s okay for it to look like kids live there. That is the whole point - your kids live there. 🤍

Being a good steward of your home - which is a gift from God - is not just picking up toys & decluttering. It’s also making your home a beautiful and comfortable and cozy heaven on earth for your little family. 🤍

As a mom little little kids I forgot this often. I would be overstimulated and thought the only area I could control was how put together my home was. As a mom who’s done this for a little while I realize the toys all over the floor is a gift. They are a gift that healthy children live and play and use their imaginations in our home.

Morning. Quiet time is especially important in the summer when we’re with our kids more, there’s less structure & more fun to be had! It’s something that I look forward to, and love. Let me be clear, this doesn’t always mean I’m doing this without kids on my lap or next to me. I’ve been working on teaching them to play quietly or listen to the Bible while I read what chapter I’m on.

I start my day calmly so I can go about the day less stressed. Now eventually I’d love to add back in a solid 30ish minute workout or at least a 10 min walk around the yard with my coffee cup in hand but we will get there!

Here are some tips:
- include your kids if they’re awake “mommy is doing quiet time and talking to Jesus, you can lay here with me while I talk to Him and I can read the Bible out loud to you, or you can play with a quiet toy.”
- pray before you get out of bed - let God be in your mind the moment your eyes wake up.
- find a devotional you love
- if you’re curious which book of the Bible to start with start with John
- I listen to classical music because I won’t try to sing it while I’m reading
- make this as relaxing as possible
- don’t make an excuse for why you don’t have time to be in your Bible or spend time with God; this is where you will grow, think and talk to Him!
- give yourself grace - 2 mins is enough if you’re doing nothing right now!

Here’s how I structure my time in the morning:
- Prayer praise God for the day & pray for a positive attitude before I even get out of bed
- Grab an easy breakfast & coffee
- while I eat I read my devotional & listen to soft classical music
- Bible reading (1-4 chapters depending on time)
- Prayers for my husband, kids, our family, others, our country
