idk what first-time mom needs to hear this, but your baby doesn’t need blackout curtains, a sound machine, or the perfect sleep schedule.

they just need you.

especially during seasons of change.

between traveling, moving, and sleeping in unfamiliar places, one thing i’ve tried to keep constant is connection. when so much around him feels different, having a familiar place to cuddle, nurse, and sleep together can make all the difference.

we used our @zonlihome floor bed on the road and for our very first night in our new home.

if you’re a cosleeping family, traveling with little ones, or preparing for a move, this is definitely one i’d add to your list!!

maybe this is controversial, but i’m not raising my son based on what i’ll think is easiest today.

i’m raising him based on what i think 90-year-old me will be grateful for.

so yes, i respond when he needs me.
yes, i breastfeed beyond infancy.
yes, we cosleep.
yes, i choose connection before correction.

because i don’t believe the goal of early childhood is independence.

i believe the goal is secure attachment.

the first few years of life are sacred, and i’m not interested in rushing through them just because our culture is uncomfortable with dependency.

one day, i’ll look back on these years and i don’t think i’ll wish i held him less, responded less, or loved him less.

if anything, i’ll be grateful i knew how precious they were while i was living them.

As Roman gets older, I’ve become a lot more protective and intentional about what I share of him online.
