I realized today that I am a pretty bad influencer, well not “bad”, just not good at it. Let me explain. But first, if you like this outfit just say OOTD below and I’ll send you the info. Ways I’ve been “bad” at influencing 1) I have a hard time showing certain brands, like an overload of Amazon, Target, H&M, Walmart, ect... I don’t have an issue with it’s just that I personally don’t really wear it. I’ve gone through periods where I have done hauls and shown these types of items, but at the end of the day, I’m returning it. Which makes me a “bad” influencer. 2) There’s no way I can film a “day in the life” series. For one, my days are busy, and two, I kind of like my personal life to be private. I don’t see a need to share it, plus you would find it quite boring. 3) Sharing Holiday outfits just doesn’t work for me. I’ve done it in the past, and to be honest, I don’t wear any of it! It’s fun to show you different ideas, but lately I’ve come to realize that if it’s not something I would truly wear, then I’m not going to show it. Even if it’s cute, even if it sells, I just can’t do it anymore. Personally for Christmas and all holidays you will find me in a nice sweater, nice shoes, and a pair of jeans. Hence, bad influencer. 4) I fell into the trap of clothing hauls and it left me feeling morally drained! I understand it’s part of my job to show clothing, but showing insane amounts of clothing is in my opinion, not realistic! 5) Staging a cute background for filming is exhausting! I’ve done it many time, bought cute props to set a stage that seems as if my home is super clean and well decorated, which is not the case. If you’ve noticed lately I’ve given up on it. Earlier this month I was filming differently, lots of hauls on a perfectly staged scene. But, that scene isn’t “real”, yes I set it up, but I have to move a couch out of the way every time I want to film! It’s ridiculous. 6) I have brands reaching out to me wanting to send me items and yes, I could earn from it, but it’s not items I would really wear, so why show them? This ends up hurting further collaborations and growth for me. But I want to stay relatable and real.
