Some places tell a story without saying a word. These photos were taken on Sanibel Island, where it’s hard to imagine that Hurricane Ian changed everything on September 28, 2022. The Category 5 hurricane brought catastrophic storm surge and devastating damage to homes, businesses, beaches, and beloved landmarks across the island. For a while, it was hard to know what the future would look like. But little by little, Sanibel came back. Every time I visit, I’m amazed by how much has been restored. The beaches are beautiful, the island is thriving, and the resilience of the people who love this place is impossible to miss. Watching that process has reminded me of something important: God often works the same way in our lives. Healing doesn’t always happen overnight. Restoration is usually slower than we’d like. But God is faithful. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” — Jeremiah 17:7 If you’re walking through a difficult season right now, keep trusting Him. The storm may have changed the landscape, but it doesn’t get the final word. And yes, this darling gingham dress felt right at home on Sanibel. The lightweight, wrinkle-free fabric is perfect for warm weather, the smocked bodice is incredibly comfortable, and the pockets are always a win. LTKdayinmylife LTKootd LTKSeasonal
