Every time Little b gets excited to brush his teeth or throw something away or complete any of the tasks that have become autopilot and mundane for me I stop and giggle. I stop and admire his enthusiasm for ordinary life. How can I find amazement in my daily activities? Maybe that’s a good New Years resolution!

Stopping autopilot is one of the strategies in Breathe, Mama, Breathe which I have recommended to every Mom I’ve talked to since I got it. It’s also one of my Favorite Things this week which I’ve written about on my *new* and free Wordpress blog. Nothing fancy, just building the habit again.

This cold has my sinuses in a constant rotation between too dry and running. I’m not one for medicine if I can avoid it so I picked up a bunch of eucalyptus from Trader Joe’s today and will be hanging it in the shower. (On the opposite wall from the faucet; if it gets wet it’ll get moldy as opposed to releasing its fragrance in the steam.) And it’s not going to help my sinuses but I am living in cabin socks. These are 100% alpaca but I’ve linked to similar ones from Target. I’m also rocking a new Target outfit today.
