September’s book for Everyday Reading Book Club

Here’s a quick rundown:
*In 1950s Tehran, Ellie and her mom lose everything and move from their rich neighborhood to the slums.
*Ellie makes a friend - Homa - and the two become very close until Ellie and her mother’s situation changes again and they return to their wealthy life.
*Their friendship fades until Homa appears in Ellie’s elite high school.
