We have almost lived in our home for two years now. After doing a poll the other day about #building101 on my stories, I had an overwhelming response about more tips on how to turn your house into a home. So I thought I’d share!

Here’s a few tips 👇🏻
➕Start with the main areas that you will spend the most time in. The living room is where we spend the most time as a family, so I focused on getting this area to feel like home.
➕Get the basics set up and organized to what flows best for your space. For me, it was living room furniture , rug, and added a couple pillows and blankets to create cozy homey vibes.
➕Decor and aesthetic things come last. Start with larger statement decor/home accents like plants, accent tables, or wall decor. Then work your way to smaller things like books, vases, and other small decorative pieces.
➕Just remember, taking your house and turning it into your home takes TIME! April is our two years, and we are still changing things up. That’s okay! What makes your home a home, is who you are in it with! 🥰

➕How it’s going➕

I finally finished up the entry way, for now, until I find a church pew. And I shared a lot of the process of how the secretary desk is going in stories yesterday! I got most of it done, but going to do some more areas that I missed today. If you missed it, some of the stories are still up, but i’ve also saved it all to a highlight called Secretary Desk! I also have a highlight of the entry way too so you can see that process!

➕Super Sunday➕

Started my Sunday with a brunch date with Jeremy, then worked a little on the secretary desk, and then we are headed to my parents for a little Super Bowl party! I don’t really watch football, I’m more into the food, commercials and half time show! 😜 anyone else?

I took the day off from Instagram yesterday to just to go shopping, and have some time to myself! It felt so nice! Just another form of free self care! 🙃 well, not the shopping part, but the unplugging part is free! 😜

Sharing this view of the great room from the island. I plan to take down the winter decor and refresh things a bit! It’s just finally getting cold here in Texas, so it feels weird to take down winter!

Also, anyone else ever feel like January is the longest month ever!?!? Today is the last day though! Tomorrow is finally February 1st!!

Got my weekly shopping done, washed my car, and now I’m deciding if I want to work on organizing the laundry room, or work on stripping the secretary desk🤔
