➕House to Home➕

We have almost lived in our home for two years now. After doing a poll the other day about #building101 on my stories, I had an overwhelming response about more tips on how to turn your house into a home. So I thought I’d share!

Here’s a few tips 👇🏻
➕Start with the main areas that you will spend the most time in. The living room is where we spend the most time as a family, so I focused on getting this area to feel like home.
➕Get the basics set up and organized to what flows best for your space. For me, it was living room furniture , rug, and added a couple pillows and blankets to create cozy homey vibes.
➕Decor and aesthetic things come last. Start with larger statement decor/home accents like plants, accent tables, or wall decor. Then work your way to smaller things like books, vases, and other small decorative pieces.
➕Just remember, taking your house and turning it into your home takes TIME! April is our two years, and we are still changing things up. That’s okay! What makes your home a home, is who you are in it with! 🥰

➕How it’s going➕

I finally finished up the entry way, for now, until I find a church pew. And I shared a lot of the process of how the secretary desk is going in stories yesterday! I got most of it done, but going to do some more areas that I missed today. If you missed it, some of the stories are still up, but i’ve also saved it all to a highlight called Secretary Desk! When a Sunday, is actually like a second Saturday, because you have off work on Monday. It’s that extra day of the weekend I always ask for. 😁

➕Blaine’s room➕

I would call it a room reveal, but honestly you never saw this room in the first place! 😅 The only thing we changed in here is his board and batten wall! We chose to go with a more subtle color in Blaine’s room since you can see this wall from the living room. The color is @sherwinwilliams Mindful Gray and the top board is pine, and stained with @minwaxusa Provincial!

Everything else in his room he has had in his room! We got the dresser on Craigslist and refinished it, decor is mainly from Hobby Lobby, or HomeGoods, and sign on wall is custom, but she no longer makes these signs!

His room kinda has a theme of mountains and woodland mix. Adventure I guess you could say, swipe too see a better view of the dresser and decor.

P.S. I may have forgot to hang the last gray arrow, so it’s just set up against the wall! Oops!! 😅
