Rating the books I read in April with facial expressions…I can’t believe it’s the end of April! Only 5 books this month! If you want a little more info on the books, keep reading. Or just judge by my face! ⭐️ The Golden Hour by Beatriz Williams - historical fiction set in Nassau when the Duke of Windsor was governor. A decent read overall, but a little slow in parts. ⭐️ The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez - I’m a huge Abby fan. While I liked it, it wasn’t my favorite of hers. ⭐️ If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin - I borrowed this one from my 18yo and was pleasantly surprised by this high school love story. There’s a sequel also. ⭐️ The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese - this one follows a family in India. It was really good in parts, and brutally boring in parts. ⭐️ Bourbon & Proof by Victoria Wilder - the final in a 3 book series and my favorite of the three. If you like romance (open door), but need a good storyline to go along with it - you should read her bourbon boys series. Seriously. Great plots with just enough romance.

Kept date night casual this week with my favorite new dress from Marine Layer. I cannot get enough of this dress - it’s so soft and so comfy, but still so feminine.

I paired it with my denim jacket (linked similar options), one of my favorite Amazon bags, and a pair of sandals.

Dress runs true to size and you will not regret adding it to your closet!

This is such a great little Amazon summer dress! It’s lined, feels well made, and has packets. It’s also available in other colors, but I’m loving this green.

It does run big. I’m wearing my usual size (small) and it’s too big. I would size down to XS if they had it, but unfortunately they do not. If you like loose, then stick with your normal size.

I wasn’t expecting to feel like Jessica Rabbit when I put this dress on, but that’s exactly what happened!

I did size up to a medium in this one for a little looser fit, but I think the small may have snatched me in even more. So if you want the full snatch, go with your normal size…if you want a more comfy feel, size up.

I wore this dress to dinner last night, and absolutely loved it! It’s seriously so soft and comfy. Perfect for day to night. Style casually with sandals like I did, or throw on a wedge to dress it up a bit.

I just got the cutest outfit from Marine Layer! The pants and top are both soooo soft. They aren’t sold as a set, so if you aren’t a fan of crop tops, you can pick a different shirt for them. I’m wearing a small in both. I’m 5’8” and am able to wear a wedge heel with the pants but they also work with a sandal (they drag the ground a tiny bit).

These are so easy to style and are comfy - stretchy waistband in the back and a drawstring. Fair warning - they fit cropped on me at 5’8” but I like the cropped fit.

I didn’t expect to love this bathing suit. BUT I DO! The stitching detail really makes the suit. It adds a cute femine flair while still being modest. It has non-removable pads, which I love because they won’t be moving around.

I typically wear a small or medium…went with the medium (6-8) for length and length is great. I could maybe get away with a small too, but medium is just fine!

One of my most worn Amazon purchases is this top! I’ve worn it over and over and if anything happens to it, I would buy it again immediately.

This bag has been great too! I haven’t had it for as long as the top, but it’s already getting a lot of use. It’s a great alternative for The Row bag that looks very similar.

Manifesting a beach house one linen dress at a time!

This is a Martha Stewart dress I found at Marshall’s last year and I’ve loved it ever since. Linen, soft, a little sheer - so I have my biker shorts underneath.

For date night, I added a belt to give it a little more structure and swapped sandals for wedges. During the day though? Unbelted with my favorite Amazon sandals is how you’ll find me.

The bag is from @tello and rose - she used to sell them but I don’t think she does anymore.

We spent our Sunday outside planting and cleaning up the garden areas - and wow was I amazed at how much the trip to Home Depot was! That reclaimed window greenhouse I’ve been dreaming of may be an easier sell now!

Not every outfit needs to be a moment, some are just easy and comfortable and that’s okay!

Every now and then, I think it’s fun to challenge myself to put together an outfit that’s not my usual look. A couple of weeks ago, we had a chilly night, and I did just that. This is a more masculine style than I usually go for, but I liked it!
