Here's my Tuesday Transformation! To transform this chest, I removed the drawer facades so as to have inset drawers. I painted this piece with @generalfinishes Lamp Black milk paint, distressed the edges, changed out the hardware, and refinished the top. My first quarantine Mother's Day was lovely! We began the day with a home cooked brunch, served in the dining room. Then my family gave me my gift (swipe to see the beautiful painting by @elisabethneillart !). We enjoyed a sunny hike, played a fierce game of scrabble, enjoyed Zoom calls with extended family, and ate a yummy homemade dinner. I hope all of you moms got spoiled too; you deserve it! I took this girl on a walk in the pouring rain today and it was just what I needed. The usually busy trails were quiet. During our stroll, we came upon a group of nine deer- one with new stubby antlers and three fawns. Willow and I stood and stared, and the deer stared back. I listened to the rain as it beat down on my umbrella, I felt the wind on my face, I appreciated the simplicity of nature, and sensed how present we all were. For that moment, all was good and beautiful in the world- and I forgot about Covid. I wish you all moments of peace and respite in these difficult times. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙏🏻

Earth Day turns 50 today! The one silver lining of all of these lockdown restrictions is less pollution- meaning better air quality throughout the world. This change is temporary, but I hope people will realize just how much of an impact our behaviors can have on our environment.

Mid week, my daughter exclaimed, "I can't wait 'til Sunday... Because we get to have our big brunch!" Five weeks ago on a Sunday, when quarantine began, we made pancakes (and attempted waffles). Our Sunday brunches have evolved since then- to fancy flute glasses, table settings, and eating in the dining room. It feels special and I, also, look forward to it.
