Went hiking & kayaking yesterday at Devil’s Lake State Park. It was amazing being surrounded by so much nature. It’s only a few hours away from the city, but highly recommend going if you haven’t been.

The third (and last) way I styled this tan bodysuit is with cropped high waist wide leg pants and gold accents from my studs on my shoes to the metallic leopard print guitar strap on my handbag.

I highly recommend basic color bodysuits because they’re so versatile. How do you like to style bodysuits?

I see some new names here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. My name is Peggy 👋 I’m a middle school reading specialist. This year I have 6th & 8th grades and we’re currently in hybrid teaching mode (in person & on Zoom simultaneously). This is my 15th year in education (and the craziest)!

Hallways Are My Runways is an extension of work and my personal life. I share my daily works looks on stories (saved in highlights) and even started sharing my work from home looks recently. I was so nervous to talk on my videos but after almost a year of Zoom school, I got used to talking to myself 😂.

I’m my happy place 🤓. Picked up some new titles at one of my favorite independent bookshops @bookends_and_beginnings. They have a new store, but I love the original shop that’s in an alley. (Don’t worry; it’s safe!)

I started wearing my Marti bracelets a little early because I couldn’t resist; they’re sooo cute! My mom, Angie @limanidesignsfloral made these for @LimaniDesigns @etsy shop. I’m so proud of her and her creativity! Continue reading below for their meaning. ♥️

Marti explanation:
These little bracelets are named after the Greek word for the month of March, “Martios”❣️

From March 1st, it is a tradition to wear a bracelet made of twisted white and red thread. The white symbolizes purity and the the red color stands for life and passion❣️

This little bracelet is worn the entire month, if it doesn’t fall off on its own, it is removed on the last day of March. There are different customs all over Greece on what to do with the bracelet at the end of the month. Some hang the bracelets on fruit trees, so the tree will remain healthy, or as Angie did growing up, burn it in the fires on June 24th. In some regions, you can remove the bracelet when you see a swallow returning for spring, so the bird can use the thread to built its nest❣️

The 1st of March also indicates the beginning of spring in Greece and the hope for warm days and a lot of sunshine. Therefore, wearing the Marti bracelet also means you are protected from a sun burn (or in our case in Chicago maybe it will protect us from wind burn 🙃)❣️

First day of hybrid (in person & Zoom simultaneously) teaching. What a crazy day. It felt so weird because you know when you finally meet your Internet friends and you’re like I know you but I don’t - it felt like that 😂 Anyway, my sixth graders were so cute and excited to be in school.

I also got a health update today and I’m just so grateful and happy with my progress. Everything has just been so overwhelming lately and I finally felt like I could breathe. 🙏♥️
