Growing up in Tucson, I didn’t appreciate it to the extent I do now. Once I took the time to look around and explore what was around me, then I truly fell in love. Happy #InternationalWomensDay! The day before I left to NYFW, I participated on the VS Pink Girl Power panel with five other talented, beautiful and intelligent women. I found inspiration through discovering their journeys to success.

One of the questions I received was related to my blog, how do I empower women on my platform? My response was through vulnerability. It’s easy for everyone to look their best and like they’re always winning, but it is initially more challenging to display vulnerability and show when you have failed.

Since I started Happily Pink, it was one of my goals to exhibit my failures to prove success can still be achieved regardless of how bleak a situation may seem. The key is to remain persistent and fearlessly continue to pursue your dreams. With each failure will bring you even greater success!

My first time attending #NYFW was special because I finally found an occasion to wear the bolero my great grandfather brought over from Syria as a merchant.
