This was our first trip to Bouchaine Winery in Napa and was my favorite of all the places we visited. I live the smaller family owned vineyards and the views were spectacular! Plus the wine was gas!

My wine tasting trip to Castello di Amorosa with my sister Heather and my niece Brianna felt like stepping into a storybook. Nestled in the rolling hills of Napa Valley, the drive alone was breathtaking—sunlit vineyards stretching as far as you can see.

Then came the castle. Modeled after a 13th-century Tuscan fortress, Castello di Amorosa is stunning in every detail, from its stone walls and towers to its underground wine caves. Walking through its grand halls and hidden passageways felt like traveling back in time.

The wine tasting itself was just as magical. Each pour—from rich Cabernets to smooth Italian-style blends—felt like an experience, made even better sharing laughs and memories together.

Capturing a family photo on vacation can be TOUGH, especially if you have little ones or rambunctious adult sons! Here’s some advice: 1) set up a tripod and use your front facing camera to record -don’t worry people will look but you’ll never see them again! 2) go with the flow on what happens next, trust me…you’ll appreciate those moments later in life, and 3) once recorded, take screenshots and save as photos. You may need to be a Director of Chaos but what you’ll end up with is priceless!

We are empty nesters and our adult twin sons go to separate out of state universities. Any time they can join us on vacation is truly a blessing and memories we will cherish forever
