This year I am really focusing on providing ample amounts of time introducing and modeling the six writing traits. I am also working on showing them solid examples of each trait so that they can use them and reference them later on when we really dig into writing and writer’s workshop. This week we are talking about the idea trait. 💡 And I just have to say my third graders are doing a phenomenal job settling into the writer’s workshop routine!! The last two days they wrote independently for twenty minutes and stayed on task the entire time!! I wrote with them too!! Oh and they just love to share their writing (maybe it’s because they get to use the microphone and sit in the teacher chair 😂)!! LTKkids
