Today is the Mondayest Tuesday ever. I don’t know what it is about 4 day work weeks that make them seem longer than they are but I’m already feeling it today. It’s making me want to crawl back into my comfy bed

This end of our bedroom is looking a little different these days. And I’ve got all the feels cause it looks like it’s time for us to move from the mini crib to the big boy crib for Levi. 😭

Next up is some wall art and shelves to fill these blank walls and a rug for the floor to help warm up this space.

2021 has been a whirlwind of a year so far and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. It’s been one of those seasons where everything seems to get turned upside down and you aren’t quite sure what’s in store next…

We moved out of our apartment, tried to buy a house in this crazy market, and then found out we were pregnant… and we’re still trying to figure out where God is leading us.

And finally over half way through the year, I’m finally at a place of peace in all the unknown. We don’t know where we’ll be come the end of the year but I do know that we’ll have a precious new baby in our arms and that truly is an answer to our prayers. So I’m confident God will guide us in everything else we’ve been praying for direction on.

In the meantime, I’m finally feeling that second trimester energy! And I’m pouring that energy into the bedroom refresh at my in-laws. Painting has been finished and I put some new curtains up last night and I already can’t believe the difference. This weekend’s project is to put the bed frame together… and be on the lookout this next week for the bedside dressers I’m working on!

R E S T 🤍 So I planned to take time off of IG from Christmas to New Years to rest and recharge... and then New Years came and went and it just felt right to let that period of rest run a little longer. ⁣

2020 was quite a year for all of us and 2021 hasn’t started on the best foot. On top of that, I knew this month was going to be a busy one for us personally. So I decided that before I jump into this new year and new season for us, rest is just what I needed. ⁣

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! 🎄 It’s definitely been an odd Christmas season and I’m ready to say so long to 2020. But I am feeling blessed to have my husband home for Christmas this year. 🤍.

Since this whole year has felt upside down, we are throwing traditional Christmas dinner out the window and making pizzas from scratch for our holiday dinner.

It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas. 🎶🌲🌲

As part of my goal this year to make our house a “cleaner” one with less toxins and chemicals, I got rid of any candles that weren’t considered clean.

In addition to the @goldandivy_ candles that I’ve been LOVING for not only their clean aspect but their amazing scents as well... my go to for making the house smell good has also been diffusing oils.

Two Christmas combos I’ve been loving this season are:
✨ Christmas Spirit, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Orange
✨ Idaho Grand Fir, Pine, Northern Lights Black Spruce (smells like Christmas tree!)

I’ve been knocking out my Christmas to do list all weekend and I’m feeling accomplished and ready to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa.

Paper bag snowflakes made and ready to hang ✔️
Christmas cookies made... well at least the ingredients are bought, cookies coming this week

Our tree is finally decorated! I went the last week just enjoying the tree with the lights on it but last night I finally busting out the ornaments.

I actually had plans to make a garland to wrap around the tree but I’ve been feeling a little uninspired the past week and decided to just go with what I had. Who knows, maybe I’ll still get around to it before December 25th, but I’m not pressuring myself.

Social media can be a great place for inspiration but it can also make you feel like you need to “keep up with the Joneses”. So this is my reminder to you that your home doesn’t need to be picture perfect and you don’t have to do every craft you pinned... stick to the version of Christmas that brings joy to your home, whatever that looks like. 🌲🤍

There truly are so many ways to decorate for Christmas and my word of advice is to go with whatever brings you joy.

For me, that looks like lots of natural looking greenery, neutral tones, and soft glowing white lights. I love the softness of all these elements and the peaceful feeling they give off.

It’s the time of year where I try to be even more intentional about slowing down and enjoying the little things. ☕️

This morning it looked like starting my work day a little later so I can enjoy my coffee and the newest Magnolia Journal while listening to Christmas music.

I love the Christmas season, but it can get so hectic and in a blink of an eye it’s gone. So I encourage you to take time this season to let it all soak in... whether it’s getting up a little earlier to enjoy your coffee at a slower pace or turning your phone off when family comes over so you can be more present. Whatever it looks like for you, take time to soak in the moments that fly by so quickly in this season. 🎄🤍
