This mirror isn’t a thrifted find, but it is a super affordable find that I’m loving in the new house. I actually bought two of these to go in one of the bathrooms, but didn’t love how they looked with the color of the vanity. I’m not sure if it’ll stay here, but it’ll stay for now!

Growth is hard. It's messy, and so often we don't even realize it's happening. It takes patience and persistence, and often we end up growing in directions we didn't expect to.⁣

None of us were prepared for a worldwide pandemic, and I know it's been a struggle for so many for very different reasons. Despite the struggle, I do think we can to see it as an opportunity to grow and stretch in new ways. ⁣

I personally am learning to put less stress on my work and on being a perfectionist. I'm giving myself more grace. I'm spending more time with my kids and hubs, more time cooking, focusing on my faith, and more time investing in creative outlets. ⁣

It's not been easy, believe me, but I'm really starting to embrace the change and the growth that this pandemic is forcing in my life. ⁣

Totally failed today trying to get the chickens to eat out of their new feeder 🤦🏻‍♀️ BUT I won’t give up just yet...

This sweet girl is Beyoncé, and she’s super excited to move to the farm in a few days! Once we move, we’ll start on building the run and the indoor walk-in spaces for the coop. I’m giddy with excitement just thinking about it!

Hi, I’m Lauren! I haven’t done an intro post in quite a while, and with a bunch of new folks around here, I thought it would be fun!

1. While I’m often the face and the voice behind this account, it’s definitely a family affair and meant to document our journey!
2. In my early college days, I wanted to be a magazine journalist and write inspirational pieces to promote confidence for young girls. I get to express my love of writing now in this space!
3. Josh asked me out via Facebook for the first time. It wasn’t until 2 months later when I finally said I’d go out with him.
4. Early in our relationship, we dreamed of starting and owning a winery...that is, until we figured out how high the startup costs are!
5. For university, I went to William and Mary and studied Finance and Philosophy, and Josh went to Virginia Military Institute and studied Business and Economics. We’re business minds with hearts to farm and live simply.
