These winter essential items have kept me warm through many winters in New York

If you want to bring hygge into your home, these items have helped us create the coziest vibe and has lifted our winter spirits

Aside from the usual items (computer and monitor), these are the 4 (okay, 5) essentials that help me stay focused while I work:
1. My vision board. I made mine and had it printed directly from @canva, and it helps me stay focused on MY big picture when my mind begins to wander. I’ve also had really good experiences with @canvasondemand.
2. My time cube. Even though I use the @forest_app on my phone, I keep it face down when I’m in a focused work session and prefer to use the time cube to see how much time I have left in my block.
3. This large @moleskine notebook, where I have my weekly brain dump (I do the week’s to-do list on a Sunday and block off the tasks in my calendar, but I like to keep the week’s plan out so I can cross off tasks as I finish them and add new ones as they come up).
4. I don’t know what it is about @hotellobbycandle’s Spa scent, but it locks me into focus mode. My workday starts with turning on the candle lamp and ends with turning the lamp off. Because it’s winter, I also have my seasonal affective disorder lamp and keep it on during the first few hours of my workday.
What are your desk essentials to stay focused?

MM.LaFleur has some amazing pieces under $100 on sale right now. From matching sets to a chic faux leather dress, this is what I have my eye on

When I get deep into work mode, I forget to eat lunch (and I know how absurd that sounds, but it’s true). I’ve been making what I’ve dubbed a monster smoothie (5 cups of frozen veggies, protein powder, a Blender Bomb, and almond milk) and sipping it while I stay in my work flow. It’s easy to make and drink, it’s got a great macronutrient profile, and you get most of your day’s required fiber in this single meal.

We updated our kitchen gallery wall and replaced the very old art with these slim picture shelves. The kids’ vision boards are the covers of their art holder frames (each frame holds 100 pages, which we will send into Artkive at the end of the year to have their 2024 art books printed). Whenever they create a piece together, I take a picture and tweak it in VSCO before having a canvas printed of the piece. We added a framed picture from our holiday card and added a few of the kids’ pieces to round it out, along with my own vision board

My GOATs for Diwali season:
- these gold Birdies flats are the best: festive, comfortable, and go with everything
- Naghedi metallic bag - also comfortable, festive, and fits everything
- Microstitch gun - an essential year round, but this helps secure dupattas and quickly alter clothes

What I’m packing and traveling with these days:
- I’m loving my Béis carry on suitcase, which is excellent. Its built-in compression is better than comparable brands, I’ve used the expandable zipper for longer trips, and I love this gray color.
- Naghedi St Barth’s mini and medium bags in cashmere are just the best - at home, on the go. They are insanely roomy and nice enough for evening outfits or work meetings
- Been loyal to my Cuyana travel cases for almost a decade. I pack my toiletries in the large pouch and my makeup in the small pouch.
- I keep my Dagne Dover tech case in my large tote at all times - it carries all the chargers I need and mine has extra chargers strictly for travel/on the go

I never travel without these three essentials to de-wrinkle, refresh my clothes between wears, and remove stains from clothing

#LTKtravel #LTKfindsunder50 #LTKxPrime
The Lo & Sons weekender is the perfect luggage for kids when you’re traveling on (it fits enough items for a week and slips over your carry on suitcase). We use packing cubes to keep all of their clothes organized (day outfits, pajamas, underwear and socks).

In the Dagne Dover Landon or CalPak, I’ll keep the kids iPads and headphones and stock their backpacks with non-screen activities and snacks.

I’ll keep everything I need in my Naghedi crossbody and will pop it in the big tote before boarding, and remove it when we’re seated and keep it on my lap.

I pack this foldable duffel when we plan to shop during our trip.

These activities are our go-tos for keeping the kids entertained while we’re traveling (while minimizing mess!)

I’ve been working remotely nearly 2 decades (!!!), and there are a few products that I credit for staying focused:

Time cube + Forest app - the app “locks” me out of my phone so I can give a specific task my full focus for the duration of the timer. I start with a 5 minute timer to handle a quick task or two, a 15 minute timer for my first writing block. If I’m in the groove, I’ll set a 30 minute timer to continue my writing block, or I’ll take a 5 minute break to needlepoint or read through my saved articles in Pocket before jumping back into writing.

A candle warmer and Hotel Lobby Candle’s Spa scent - I don’t know what it is about this candle that snaps me into focus mode, but it does. The candle warmer helps extend the life of my candles and add a warm glow to my desk.

Spiritune - this music therapy app lets me select my current mood, the mood I want to feel, which mode I’m in (focus or relax), and it creates the perfect playlist to help me get into the mood I need.

You deserve everything! I hope you treat yourself to one of these:
- A Kilte Collection washable cashmere set
- A cozy Chappywrap blanket
- OSEA body oil (just the best)
- An acupressure mat and neck pillow
- Theraface tool (it’s got everything - light therapy, micro current, massage)

Each writer’s style and tools for writing are probably pretty established, but there are some items that make my own writing stretches more joyful:
A candle warmer and Hotel Lobby Candle’s Spa scent (I can’t explain but that scent locks me into focus mode)
A great pair of over-the-ear headphones
My Remarkable tablet for brainstorming and research. The Amazon scribe is another good option.
A temperature controlled tumbler and my favorite “writing zone” tea

These are some older shows/miniseries that you may have missed when they originally aired (many are my comfort rewatch shows for me). And Kelce is just the best - like, the absolute best.
The Great
Supergirl
Madam Secretary
Blood & Treasure
Witches of East End
Kelce
War & Peace
A Suitable Boy

We stuff our stockings with toiletries for the upcoming year (a tradition my mom started), and these lip balm sets are the absolute best. Some games would be a great addition. A tumbler, portable battery, fabric shaver, and bowl lifter thingy are practical gifts that are always appreciated. I got a kick out of these packaged batteries. A popcorn popper and personalized socks are a fun and unexpected gift.

#LTKfamily #LTKGiftGuide #LTKHoliday
I’ve linked to some leather boots linked with shearling, and a pair of wool high boots that are really warm and elegant.

I think these gifts would be awesome for any 10 year old (and I may have bookmarked them for holiday and birthday gifts for Rho). This planetarium projector comes with 5 different discs, and I would pair them with the book Space Case). I also love these make-your-own comic book, video game, and neon-esque sign kits, and this old school Game Boy-esque console. If the 10 year old in question is into Zelda or just swords, this Master Sword building kit would be a huge hit.

#LTKGiftGuide #LTKHoliday #LTKkids
Not drinking alcohol in the evenings really does help. I enjoy a Ghia spritz when I want a drink to mark the transition between work and family mode. I’ve also been drinking magnesium (either Beeya’s or Moon Juice’s) every evening before bed, and I’ve found it really helps as well.
I’ve been very, very loyal to the Equilibria sleep gummies ever since they launched, and have two every single night. I also love a sleep mask and this weighted silk one is heavenly (though if the pressure on your eyes is too much, this molded eye cup one from Slip is very nice).

Quince has a pretty woven blanket in a variety of colors, and I also love this cozy faux fur one.

#LTKhome #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
My sequined Style Charade x Sail To Sable dress has been my go-to holiday party dress for years now - I have a silver one, but planning to add the linked gold one to my wardrobe.
I love a satin slip dress paired with a faux fur shrug.
Feathers and tulle some of my favorite embellishments for cocktail attire as well!

#LTKHolidaySale #LTKSeasonal #LTKHoliday
Hotel Lobby Candle’s Cabin and Lodge scents embody this vibe perfectly. May I also recommend getting a candle warmer lamp, to help extend the life of your candle? I LOVE mine.

Genetics, sleep (or lack thereof), and hydration are some of the largest contributors to undereye dark circles. I’d try to get more sleep and drink more water, but I’m linking some of my favorite skincare and makeup to help treat and hide them as well:
Sunday Riley’s Auto-correct, Wander Beauty’s Baggage Claim eye cream, and Alchimie Forever’s tightening eye gel are some of the best brightening and hydrating eye creams on the market.
Live Tinted’s Huestick (I use perk) is a great color corrector for hiding undereye circles. I also love their Hueskin concealer (I use shade 13) and Rare Beauty’s undereye brightener over the color corrector, and that’s worked quite well for me!

I’m really loving my Birkenstock-esque Mary Janes paired with wool or sheer socks (it’s weird, but it really does work).
I really love a cozy sweater dress, and this cashmere one is so delicious.
A taupe bag feels very fall - I scored a preloved Loewe puzzle bag on Poshmark, but am linking to some other options in this perfect shade.
A ridiculously oversized sweatshirt is my Sunday football look (I take a unisex XL). I’m linking to a plain black one which looks great with workout leggings or leather leggings alike.
If you didn’t snag these Birdies sneaker boots, you must - they are the best!
I have a love affair with MM.LaFleur’s Sahara print and this blouse is just perfect.

I love to needlepoint and crochet when I’m listening to audiobooks. The best beginner sets for each are from Unwind Studio and Woobles, respectively. These are some of my favorite beginner sets.

#LTKHoliday #LTKHolidaySale #LTKfindsunder50
I am OBSESSED with Miss Scarlet and the Duke. If Veronica Mars was set in early 20th century London, it would be this show and it is just a delight.
I’m also enjoying Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (set in 1920’s Melbourne - same vibes, different accents, equally delightful)

#LTKfindsunder50 #LTKSeasonal
I love all of these options, especially One/Third’s coats. I own a number of them and can vouch for their quality and fit!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKsalealert
I’ve gained some weight and don’t feel great in a lot of my clothes, but some of these items help:
- this belt helps me crop oversized tops perfectly and wear them with looser fitting pants or a skirt
- my microstitch gun helps me quickly secure gaps between buttons, secure bra straps to my top or dress, or make tiny alterations on the fly.
- these buttons are a game changer - I can place them exactly where I need to make my jeans fit perfectly

A monochromatic set (I even match my shoes and outerwear) is the quickest way to look elegant and pulled together with minimal effort. I love a taupe, forest green, navy, or gray to be more interesting than black

#LTKfindsunder50 #LTKmidsize #LTKstyletip
If I were heading to Bravocon 2023 and shopping on a budget, here are some of the outfits I’d pick:
- a Bravo graphic tee with an iconic line (cropped with the help of this belt), paired with sequin joggers or a slip skirt and a sequined blazer
- the viral pearl dress with the Skims dupe dress
- the Skims dupe dress with the sequined blazer

I’d go with a pair of embellished shoes (the silver Air Maxes are my favorite), and this hair clip for every outfit

#LTKfindsunder100 #LTKSeasonal #LTKmidsize
There is nothing better than this short-sleeved robe - it’s super soft, very breathable, and the monogram makes it special enough for a gift.

The Cuyana travel set is one of my go-to gifts to give - it’s timeless and beautiful and will last forever. Also can be monogrammed!

Blankets are a welcome gift, and nothing is better than something personalized or something cashmere. I own and love both of these blankets.

I also love giving books - any of these can be accompanied with a book you pick specifically for that bridesmaid, with a note inside on why you picked that book for her.

Sundays are for the Birds (and the Phils right now!). I’m all about the super oversized shirts (I took an XL) with black leggings for my weekend uniform

How we keep the kids occupied and off screens during spooky season rainy weekends

I love a matching or coordinating set for a long flight, paired with compression socks and a comfortable pair of sneakers with no-tie shoelaces. Here are some of my favorites

#LTKSale #LTKfindsunder50 #LTKtravel
Both Vionic and Blondo make insanely comfortable, waterproof boots that work for commutes and office attire alike. These are 3 of my favorite styles that also provide great support for high arches.
