I’ve gotten asked a lot lately about how I find the motivation to take care of myself ..”give myself half hour a day” and more frequently how they can get this happy smiling heather glow … it’s easy … Movement IS medicine! I make it a goal to do 4-5 days of workouts a week and if I don’t for whatever reason I feel like a 🐌. So instead of skipping one all together because I am tired or had a long day/night at work- I modify and do just a 10 minute arms. We all have 10 minutes a day .. yes..every single one of us. I promise. I usually plan out my workouts for the next day the night before… I know in my head what I’ve got going on for the next day and will schedule it … yes put on the calendar to do it. But life happens so it ebbs and flows. Always remember … Self care is not selfish! I’m not perfect.. my eating definitely needs work but this movement makes me glow emotionally. Movement really does help mentally. I am calmer and less reactive. My word of 2022 is discipline and this is what works for me. I have a long way to go but I wanted to share if anyone needs some inspiration!! You can do it too. I’m not sure I consider myself a full athlete but I’ll get there slowly.. Also - so many asked about my “discipline” MyIntent bracelet. I’ve gotten one every year for years. I never take it off ever until it breaks or the next year when I’ve accomplished the word. It’s my word of the year reminder along with my Peloton bracelets I never take off 🙌🏼
