๐บ๐ธ Happy National Voter Registration Day! ๐บ๐ธ Today is also Constitution Day, so we get a 2-for-1 patriotic day! Y'all know I love to vote. Several years ago, I was included in a magazine feature about local area writers, and the cover picture on this carousel was one of the ones that I submitted. While national elections like the presidential one this year are important, paying attention and researching state and local elections are even more important to your everyday lives. What you vote for in those down-ballot elections include public education, affordable housing, public safety, voting rights, and reproductive freedoms. So, today, celebrate National Voter Registration Day by checking your voter registration to make sure you're registered and all your information is accurate. Remember that this year in NC, you must have a photo ID. Encourage a friend to register. Make a voting plan. I'm voting early this year because I am volunteering at the polls on Election Day. Looking for other ways to get involved? ๐บ๐ธ You can sign up for poll work in your area here: https://www.powerthepolls.org ๐บ๐ธ Write postcards (I got mine here: https://turnoutpac.org/postcards/) Important Dates for North Carolinians ๐บ๐ธ: October 11 is the last day to register to vote by mail & online ๐บ๐ธ: October 17 - November 2 in-person registration + early voting (so if you miss the October 11 deadline, you can still register to vote & vote during the early voting period) ๐บ๐ธ: November 5: Election Day (you must have been registered by the October 11 deadline to vote -- no same day registration & voting on election day) LTKSeasonal LTKStyleTip
