Bathroom remodel part 11 I am so grateful I only have burgundy walls to paint over and not an entire color drenched bathroom because that would have been even more work. The Burgundy walls had polyurethane striped so they got sanded, vacuumed, wiped, primed, patched which I should have done first but went out of order. Then they had to get sanded, wiped, and primed again. Once the second coat was done and ready for Benjamin Moore simply white my husband decided to help by taking off the vent cover and almost fell off the ladder so I guess it’s for the best.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the basement and thought about throwing this tile away.

I’m so grateful we kept it because it’s 20 years since we added a second floor to our home and things are starting to break!

This house has been a labor of love and money pit!

And just like that we are back in business and the master bathroom shower works again with no leaks!

We had the plumber install the 3 way diverter to our existing shower head so we could add the handheld shower. It was perfect and was super affordable. Now I can just switch to the handheld when cleaning the shower. It’s perfect to add to your bathroom if you have pets or kids.

This bathroom shower remodel has been quite the process but I’m so grateful we did not rip out the entire walk in steam shower and start over.

Bathroom Remodel Part 6… Floor tile from @flooranddecor and saddle from @homedepot are in the master bath steam shower.

Now we are just waiting on the rest of the wall tile. Once that’s done we move onto the grout which let me tell you was quite the process but I’ll share that in the next update.

Christmas game early when we got these replacement shower jets from @deltafaucet !

Bathroom remodel part 8 Christmas came early for us when we got this box from Delta Faucets. My husband did the unboxing, but clearly, he needs to work on his unboxing skills. The box had the repair kits and the 8 shower jets, which saved about $800. My husband is not handy, but I was actually very impressed that he knew how to remove the jets without having to call the plumber back. While he did that, I cleaned the shower face plates with a baking soda and expired peroxide paste, but it did the job. He installed the new jet and put back the face plates, and now it’s ready for good cleaning!

WE GOT LUCKY!!! Bathroom remodel part 5

Remember when I told you I was afraid the shower jets were leaking and we’d have to replace them at $75 each?
So the plumber came today to put the liner in. He said he didn’t see any leaks from the jets, and we should be good. I still had him replace the second cartridge that he did on the other side to be safe. He also got the brushed nickel drain cover, which is perfect, but he wasn’t able to get the diverter replacement cartridge. Of course, I was not ok with that and had to try myself, so I called Delta after googling and reading a Reddit thread where someone said that Delta sent them replacement jets for free. Long story short I found the original receipt with the rough in part numbers and delta is sending us 2 cartridge repair kits, stem extenders, shower heads and 8 replacement jets which is amazing and the universe is watching over us because this shower kit is discontinued and it goes bad we’re screwed because won’t have tile left to replace them without having to rip everything out. They had the wrong address on the shipping email, but I caught it right away, and they were able to cancel and reorder. Again blessed!!! The plumber installed the diverter on the left side, so when the hose and handheld shower wand are installed, they’ll be less noticeable. With the liner in the tile guys came back and put another layer of cement with a pitch so the water flows to the drain. Tomorrow morning, they’ll be back to start with the floor and wall tile, so I have to run to the store and get a shower threshold saddle that matches what we have going on in this master bathroom. Fingers crossed the store has what I need in stock, and I can get it tonight. You may think we are crazy for not gutting and redoing the entire shower, but we already invested $300000 20 years ago, which would probably be double now when we went back 10 ft and added a second floor to our small ranch home. So we’ve already invested a ridiculous amount into Willow House and are not trying to spend any more than we have to. That’s the update for now. Follow along to see how this 20-year-old Tuscan trend bathroom transforms over the next couple of weeks.

Amazon kitchen must have that is so disgusting. This indoor fly and gnats trap is what you need to get rid of those pesky annoying fruit flies. Highly recommend. It works like a charm in your kitchen or bathroom.

MAPEI Ultracolor Plus FA All-in-one Grout for the master bathroom tile. This is what we used in our other bath projects too. Need to choose between the biscuit, oatmeal, or bone color. Trying to match what is already in the shower. We’ve used this with kitchen tile as well. It comes sanded or unsanded. Also pre mixed or powder versions. This is 25lbs but you can get 10 lb also. I was told you need to mix the entire bag to get the true color
