Kids 2+ meds for fever. The popular viral virus arrived unannounced. 104* fever for over 48hrs. Here are the meds we are using and rotating every 4hrs. Genexa, Motrin, Feel better fast (not linked). This post is only for fever meds, I have other post for vitamins + immune support, cold, throat and cough meds. Other things we are doing: - Lukewarm baths - Lukewarm honey water to help with throat - LMNT electrolytes - water with mineral salt (to help hydration) - KinderLyte - Pedialyte popsicle / I don’t personally love the ingredients but it was an emergency and he needed something. You can also make your own electrolyte popsicle or yogurt popsicles. As far as the thermometer, I have the forehead thermometer which I do like and seems accurate but I heard that the ear thermometer is better for accuracy. It’s on my to buy list if I ever need a new one. Other natural remedies I’ve heard but haven’t tried: - The wet sock: wet a sock with cold water or apple cider vinegar, put on baby/toddler when they are sleeping and put another dry sock over it. If you have wool socks, put a dry wool sock over the wet one. Otherwise another dry sock will do. - put a thin slices of red onion or a thin slice of a potato inside baby’s sock. - cut a red onion and leave on counter top to absorb virus Another brand I use but unfortunately can’t link here is Earthley. I LOVE everything from them.
