Two very different days on this leg of the journey — and I loved them both. Corsica surprised me. I had heard the beaches were extraordinary, and from what I could see, they truly are — but our day took an unexpected turn. Uber is not a thing on the island, taxis were scarce, and we missed our window to get to the water. So we adjusted the plan and spent the morning shopping in town instead, followed by a long, lovely lunch. Sometimes the best days are the ones you did not plan. Saint-Tropez, however, was everything I had built up in my mind — and more, provided you time it right. We arrived at the famous market by eight forty five, just after opening, and even then it was already filling in. If you are ever headed there in the summer, my advice is to arrive before it opens. It gets shoulder-to-shoulder crowded quickly, and getting there early means you can actually see what you want before it becomes a scene. The market itself did not disappoint — homewares, incredible food, even the occasional vintage Louis Vuitton trunk. I could not resist an antique ice bucket and the prettiest set of knife rests, which I cannot wait to show you. We ended up having the best lunch tucked into the middle of the market, right as the crowds thinned toward closing. If I am being honest, Saint-Tropez in the summer is not the place for a leisurely shopping stroll — it is chaos in the best and worst ways. But a girls' trip, in the off season, with a beach club and a nice hotel nearby? That is the version I am already planning.
