Day 4 of crappy chores I didn’t want to do…
But now my grout is clean, my furniture doesn’t smell weird, and the shutters aren’t dusty criminals anymore.

Small wins still count.

Holiday front porch is loading….

#LTKHome #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal

Here’s a beginner-friendly DIY tutorial for a festive wood snowman porch leaner that’s easy to make and perfect for adding holiday charm to your front porch!
⸻

❄️ DIY Wood Snowman Porch Leaner Tutorial

Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 1–2 hours (plus drying time)

⸻

🪚 Supplies You’ll Need:
• (3) 1x3 boards — same length (for the snowman’s body)
• (1) shorter 1x3 board — for the hat brim
• Wood glue
• White paint (for the body)
• Black paint (for the hat)
• Acrylic paint markers (for the face details)
• 1 small red bow
• Paintbrushes or foam brushes
• Clamps (optional, but helpful for gluing)

⸻

🧤 Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Assemble the Snowman’s Body
Lay your three long 1x3 boards side-by-side vertically. Apply wood glue along the edges and press them together.
👉 Tip: Use clamps to hold them in place while the glue dries for a sturdier piece.

2. Add the Hat Brim
Once the glue is dry, attach the shorter 1x3 board horizontally across the top to form the hat brim. You can glue it or use small nails for extra hold.

3. Paint the Base Colors
• Paint the bottom portion white for the snowman’s body.
• Paint the top section black for the hat (including the brim).
Let the paint dry completely before moving on.

4. Create the Face
Use acrylic paint markers to draw the snowman’s face — add eyes, a carrot nose, and a cheerful smile!
👉 Beginner tip: Lightly sketch the design with pencil first to guide your placement.

5. Add the Finishing Touches
Attach a small red bow at the base of the hat brim or around the “neck” area for a cute, festive touch.

⸻

🌟 Optional Extras:
• Add buttons down the front using black paint or actual wood buttons.
• Lightly dry brush the edges with gray or brown paint for a rustic, weathered look.
• Seal with a clear outdoor sealer if you’ll be placing it outside.

⸻

🎁 Display It!

Lean your new snowman against your front porch wall, beside your door, or near your holiday planters for instant seasonal cheer.
