Wash, dry and loosely curl before bed after a fresh wash... that's my hair washing routine every 3-ish days or so (unless I'm super sweaty.)

I curl it loosely because my hair is wavy now and I have to blow it out or let it go naturally curly (which is usually more daily work.) Curling at night sets it for a few a days without creases or lumps!
