The 2024 Youth Media Award Winners were held this morning. The Randolph Caldecott Medal is given to the most distinguished American picture book for children. “Big” by Vashti Harrison was the winner. The John Newbery Medal is given to the most outstanding contribution to children's literature: “The Eyes and the Impossible,” written by Dave Eggers was the winner. There were five Newberry Medals and four Caldecott Honor books this year. There are several more awards given.
