A little fall moment on my sideboard that makes me smile every time I walk by

This vignette brings together everything I love about the season — texture, nostalgia, and soft autumn color. The blue and white pumpkins tie the scene together: one in a traditional toile pattern and another in a playful gingham that keeps it casual and cozy. Nestled beside them, a faded blush rose and a few rust and ivory florals soften the look, blending that cottage feel with a hint of romance.

I added a bit of vintage personality with a sepia portrait wrapped in old paper, tucked behind the pumpkins and decorated with sparkling brooches for a touch of whimsy. It’s an unexpected detail that catches the light and feels like a quiet nod to the past.

This mix of blue and white ceramics, neutral blooms, and warm metallics is an easy way to transition from early fall into Thanksgiving — proof that cozy doesn’t have to mean orange and brown. It’s elegant yet homey, just the way I like it.

Bring on cozy harvest season with my blue-and-brass vignette—easy to recreate on a mantel, console, or dining buffet. I start with a 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭 as the focal point. The medium size adds warmth and a little movement without blocking sightlines at dinner. To soften the metals, I layer a 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐱 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐲 + 𝐞𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 in soft green with blush/ivory blooms. It reads full on its own; for evening, tuck in a strand of micro LEDs and you’re done.⁣....
