I have a whole list of Bibles I love and are easy to read.

And because I get asked this all the time, I personally am using the Spiritual Growth NLT Bible right now. It’s great, has a moderate amount of commentary and the book tabs on the side are clutch!

If I could make some suggestions on this- as having a Bible someone will actually read is LIFE CHANGING! (For real)
1. Get a Study Bible with notes that explain what things mean and give some context. If you’re gifting- this should be your number one rule- get a study Bible.
2. Get a translation that is easily readable. My favorite is NLT - New Living Translation. Others are the ESV and CSB. These are easy to find on Amazon, Walmart and Target websites. Please don’t get a translation that is hard to read- that Bible will likely not get used.

That’s it- my 2 rules for picking a Bible.

This amazing resource is less than $20. Grab it for a college student or future graduate. It has commentary on almost every single verse of scripture. I cannot recommend it enough.
