Making the most of these gorgeous late summer days ☀️🌾

And still living in this magical $17.99 dress! Initially I picked it up in White and Dark Yellow and ended up wearing them so much within the first couple of weeks that I purchased a second White version and a Black version! 👗👌🏼

This sweet little dress would make a fantastic staple in any woman’s summer (or transitional) wardrobe. There hasn’t been a week that passed since I purchased these dresses that I haven’t worn them — and they’re undoubtedly my most-worn pieces of Summer 2020. They’re flattering, cool and breathable, light as air, wrinkle resistant, pack and wash like a dream and don’t require a bra — I mean, what more can you ask for?! 🤩🙏🏼

I throw on these dresses on casual days both at home and in the country. They’re incredibly comfortable and easy to wear whether I’m working away behind the computer, snapping photos, recipe testing, relaxing or enjoying some time outside. 😎📸

The styling options are endless — I like to just wear it alone around the apartment, tie a knot at the hem for some extra shape, throw a linen button-down, cardigan or sweater overtop for a extra layer of warmth, and even wear them underneath my apron while I’m gardening! 👩🏻‍🌾🥕

While the White versions are my most worn, this sunny Dark Yellow rendition is a close second (I’m actually wearing it today), while the Black version makes the perfect no-fuss dress for casual summer evenings and date nights. 💃🏻🧡

When I feel like wearing a heel this summer, I've been slipping into espadrilles. I love my espadrilles from spring through autumn and was looking to expand my collection this year as they've been my most worn warm weather heel for years! ☀️👌🏼

Happy Easter, from our home to yours 🐣🥂

While Easter certainly looks a lot different this year, we decided to make the most of it! I put on a dress, ordered flowers, made my first ever carrot cake -- then we popped some Prosecco and enjoyed a simple dinner for two (Adam was actually peeling potatoes in the kitchen to my left when I snapped this photo!). 📸💁🏻‍♀️

In over a decade together, this was the first Easter dinner we celebrated in our home, with just the two of us. Typically we spend the holidays in the country with our families, splitting our time between two large gatherings -- and this experience has just made me appreciate them even more. While it wasn't the Easter we're used to, it was still lovely and has left me feeling very grateful. 👫🏻🙏🏼

I'm really starting to miss all the events we had in our calendar this spring -- like date nights at @jubilee_ab.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'd have just poured myself a glass of wine and started getting ready for the evening -- sushi at our favourite restaurant, followed by a beautiful performance at the Jubilee Auditorium. Adam and I are big supporters of the arts here in Calgary (I attended the Alberta College of Art & Design and walked across the Jubilee stage when I graduated!) -- my heart hurts for our local arts community right now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We shot this look on March 6th as part of my upcoming Winter / Spring 2020 Lookbook, set to publish at JustineCelina.com later this month. I was so excited to wear this look to the ballet this month, sip prosecco and snack on the delicious Jubilee jubejubes as we enjoyed the talents of @albertaballetcanada.

We're all going through various periods of adjustment when it comes to COVID-19 and it's an emotional rollercoaster to say the very least. Of course there are many more pressing effects of this pandemic than missing a night at the theatre -- but you never know what people are dealing with behind the scenes. This is a gentle reminder to practice extra kindness and compassion during this challenging time.

When this is all over, I can't wait for many more date nights in our beautiful city -- and I'll never again take for granted the energy and community of a full theatre.

I love to draw inspiration from my environment, and all the grey, snowy days we've been having lately are what inspired look -- I actually think they can be quite beautiful! 🌨🤩

As winter approaches, I find myself drawn to more subdued, tonal palettes -- which is definitely out of the ordinary for this colour lover! That said, I still love to experiment with shade, texture and pattern, especially when there's a lack of colour. ⛄️🖤

As someone who's very inspired by colour, each year I anxiously await @pantone's Colour of The Year Announcement. 🤓🎨

Last week, Classic Blue was confirmed as the Colour of the Year for 2020 -- described as a timeless and enduring blue hue, elegant in its simplicity. At first I was shocked at the choice (I thought it was going to be a warm neutral shade!), but as always, I'm excited to allow it to inspire my work across categories! 💙👩🏻‍🎨

I created this look as an ode to Classic Blue, to demonstrate that there's always a way to incorporate trends (colour or otherwise) in a way that's congruent to your personal style. After being on the hunt for my perfect leopard print jacket, I found it as @ASOS about 5 years ago and snapped it up immediately. A beautifully made leopard print jacket in a timeless silhouette with never go out of style — and I find myself pulling her out year after year to style up with each season’s trends. 🧥🙌🏼

I find the combination of an ultra cozy knit paired with a thick, quality corduroy to be extremely warm and insulating, despite not having a jacket layered overtop (which you could absolutely do as well!). 🧥🍂

It's plaid season

I'm all about experimenting with contrasting textures material in monochromatic outfits to keep things interesting!
