y’all, i’ve never been able to get into gua sha. i understand the vision but every time i used one, it felt like i was dragging a rock across my face. 😖🗿🫡 i found face cupping YEARS ago, 2021 to be exact, while browsing at a local wellness store. baffled, i started asking the girl working a million questions. she explained that facial cupping is used to help with lymphatic drainage, puffiness, circulation, and facial tension. it’s *similar* to gua sha in the sense that both are rooted in traditional chinese medicine practices and both are used for facial massage, circulation, tension, and moving fluid. but gua sha is more of a scraping / gliding pressure tool, while face cupping uses gentle suction to lift and glide the skin. i don’t have anything backed by science to prove to yall that face cupping is proven better than gua sha, but it feels more instant & i have a lack of patience and sustained dopamine… especially, with all of my mast cell / histamine issues this year, i swear IT REALLY IS THAT INSTANT!!! ‼️ anyways, face cupping has been around forever, but i feel like it’s underappreciated + not talked about enough with the general public. 🤷🏼♀️🫡🧠🧖🏼♀️ LTKgrwm LTKselfcare LTKBeauty
