Monday is our “houseiversary” and I can NOT believe we’ve lived here two. whole. years. We started on our kitchen the night we moved in and tore out the upper cabinets working well into the night and early morning. Then within that week, we painted the kitchen, and within the month, we added the hardware. And then slowly over the next 23 months, we have slowly updated the remaining things you see here like the lights, faucet, and most revelry, the backsplash. It may not always be in the budget or personal time to do everything at once. And you know what, that’s okay! There’s still things I want to do in here that will have to wait. But I love the progress and the journey.

Before we bought our house I had a whole Pinterest board of entryways then I found out ours was going to b a wall 😂 ...not a way. But I’ve actually really loved styling this little entry of our house. I have some wicker baskets to hide shoes, used the same frames (but the 11 x 14 size) as I have in the breakfast nook, and have a linen look bench that coordinates with my DIY table and chairs. And I’m always changing out the pillows and knickknacks on the tray to match the season. You know mama always said you have one chance to make to make a first impression so I wanted it to set the tone and match the rest of the home, even though it’s just a wall. I’ll tag the amazing girl on Etsy who did our dog portraits and house pictures. Does anyone else hate the look of the old blocky fridges? I’d always imagined getting a fancy fridge one day but it wasn’t until I became a home owner that I learned exactly how much refrigerators cost. Even the “cheap” ones are NOT cheap! So I had to get creative to make this old girl work. When I really thought about it, it was the ugly handles that dated it more than the shape of the fridge itself.
