What I skip adding to cart as someone who craves a simple, easy to manage home ↓

1️⃣ Dollar section checkout items — they’re usually poor quality, super trendy, and end up in the trash or as clutter a few weeks later.

2️⃣ Seasonal decor — I still enjoy a few new fall and holiday pieces here and there, but now I mostly focus on timeless, neutral decor that doesn’t have to be swapped out every season.

3️⃣ Small random pieces — unless I know exactly where it’s going, I avoid tiny decor. Too many little things create visual clutter, are harder to style, and just add more to dust. I’d rather invest in larger capsule pieces that fill the space intentionally.

Owning less stuff

Seriously!! When everything has a home and there’s no clutter to work around, your “opening shift” becomes the easiest part of your morning

☁️ Unload & reload the dishwasher after breakfast
☁️ Tidy up the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms
☁️ Vacuum the couch (pet owners, you know 🫡)
☁️ Make the bed & lint roll it because said pets were definitely on it
☁️ Start a load of laundry
☁️ Send off the robot vacuum to handle the rest

15-20 minutes and the house is good for the day. I also follow this routine with one deep cleaning task daily like bathrooms, appliances, wash bedding, etc so I never have to do a one big reset day

I’ve spent the last year simplifying our home and honestly being minimal-ish is the whole reason this works. Less stuff = less to clean around = more time to do literally anything else
