Cocktail recipes and the bar tools and glassware you need to create delicious craft cocktails

These viski gin and tonic glasses are perfect for spritzes too!
Checking in for another Tuesday Tip! Today I am sharing a way to always have classic cocktails on hand for the holidays - freezer cocktails!

Having freezer cocktails on hand is a game-changer for hosting! 🍹🧊✨ There's nothing quite like the convenience of pulling out a pre-made classic cocktail from your freezer and enjoying it whenever a guest stops by.

Freezer cocktails work really well for booze forward cocktails, as they are primarily alcohol and will last a longer amount of time. For booze only cocktails like martinis, manhattans, and negronis, you should really not have to worry about them going bad.

Note - It is important to remember to include dilution for cocktails that aren’t served over ice, as dilution is a crucial element to any cocktail recipe!

What will you be batching this hosting season? What recipes do you want me to share for freezer cocktails?

Such fun making Halloween cocktails getting ready for all those Halloween parties!

I think this might be my favorite cocktail from the shakerandspoon Mexcalloween II box! This is called the tomb in bloom, and it is a really delicious, spirit-forward, earthy cocktail that contains literary references and has a fun and fancy spray bottle, so I am completely sold. Comment “shake” and I will send you the link to the shaker and spoon box subscription!

Tomb in Bloom

mezcal

the tell tale heart artichoke syrup

a few dashes of chocolate bitters

a spray of orange oil

a forget me not flower

I am loving these shakerandspoon kits because they give you everything you need to make a cocktail that might be a little intimidating to try to create on your own. All you have to do is add liquor and you are creating elevated cocktails like this one at home. They also come with cute extras - sharing some of those in my stories throughout today. Another thing I like is that they highlight the bartenders and mixologists that create this cocktail - this one is by danny ronen!

Yall Already know that the Corpse Reviver #2 cocktail is one of my favorites! 🧟‍♂️💀🍸 This bewitching concoction is the perfect way to summon the spirits this Halloween season. With an equal parts mix of gin, lemon juice, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, and a touch of absinthe, it's the ultimate potion to wake the dead (aka the severely hungover) and revive your taste buds. 👻💫

The corpse reviver no. 2

.75 oz gin

.75 oz orange liqueur

.75 oz lillet blanc

.75 oz lemon juice

A few dashes of absinthe

Lemon twist to garnish

Combine all ingredients in the cocktail shaker, shake, and double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. If you’d like, you can wash the glass with absinthe by adding a few drops and swirling it around inside the coupe to coat it and then dump the rest. I love absinthe so I washed my glass and kept it in the cocktail. Garnish with a lemon twist and enjoy!

13 days of Halloween continues with this bitter bloody spritz! This low or no ABV cocktail is a perfect halloween party cocktail, because it’s super fun and interactive, and you can even put different liqueurs in the syringe for folks who prefer to have an alcoholic version of the drink. I used Ritual non-alcoholic apertif for this version, and it is so delicious! If you are wanting the booze, I would recommend Campari, Aperol, or a local red bitter.

NA bitter blood spritz

2 oz prosecco or NA prosecco

3 oz soda water

1 oz red bitter

Add prosecco and soda water over ice in a wine glass. Slowly disperse your red bitter using a serving syringe (or ya know, just add it normally). Stir gently, and enjoy!

Had to make this one for day 2 of 13 days of Halloween! I found this while perusing Amy blackthorns botanical brews and it reminded me of my early twenties when I was obsessed with Hemingway, who so said to have created this wild concoction. And honestly? That tracks with everything I ever read about him 😂

Death in the afternoon

1.5 oz absinthe

4 oz champagne or sparkling wine

Enjoy!
I’m excited for autumn! I’ll even get to visit the northeast this fall for a family wedding, so I’m extra excited, because even though I haven’t lived in the northeast for over a decade I’m always the most home sick so I’ve in October! This is a honey old fashioned which i made to complement the Midwest honey varietal of local hive who do I amazing things for pollinators!

2 oz bourbon

.25 oz honey syrup

3 dashes angostura bitters

Orange rind

Enjoy!

Make a French manhattan at home!
Everything you need to make a french Manhattan at home
When we were in Spain one of our favorite things to grab to drink was the house vermouth at various bars. I really only had experienced vermouth as an ingredient in a cocktail, so it was a whole new experience for me, and all the vermouth we had was absolutely delicious.

We grabbed a few bottles to bring home and the first one I’ve opens is this lot fi vermouth, which is delicious. It’s herbaceous, with vanilla, thyme, citrus, rosemary, and hazelnut notes.

Are you a fan of vermouth on the rocks, or will you stick to putting it in your manhattans? What questions do you have about vermouth?
