As a lover of all things vintage, thrifted, and small business, I typically try to source most things for my bar secondhand and from small businesses. However, there are some items that a place like Amazon is really useful for. I have compiled a list of all my favorite Amazon finds over the past few years, that I use in my bar regularly. Keep an eye out for these items on Amazon Prime Day, August 10 and 11.

What I love about bar carts is how they are portable and there are infinite possibilities with how to use them! I often move them around when hosting to set up cocktail stations or decor. I’ve linked a few of my favorite bar carts in stories if you are prepping for some holiday gatherings!

Are you a bar cart fan or more into bar cabinets like the one I shared awhile back?

Checking in for another Tuesday Tip! Today I am sharing a way to always have classic cocktails on hand for the holidays - freezer cocktails!

Having freezer cocktails on hand is a game-changer for hosting! 🍹🧊✨ There's nothing quite like the convenience of pulling out a pre-made classic cocktail from your freezer and enjoying it whenever a guest stops by.

Freezer cocktails work really well for booze forward cocktails, as they are primarily alcohol and will last a longer amount of time. For booze only cocktails like martinis, manhattans, and negronis, you should really not have to worry about them going bad.

Note - It is important to remember to include dilution for cocktails that aren’t served over ice, as dilution is a crucial element to any cocktail recipe!

What will you be batching this hosting season? What recipes do you want me to share for freezer cocktails?

- [ ] Another Tuesday Tips - cocktail syrup edition! Making your own cocktail syrups is easy, cost-effective, and the perfect way to customize your cocktails. Let’s start with the basics, simple and rich syrup, the most common syrups you’ll find in recipes.

The most common ratio for simple syrup is 1:1, which means equal parts sugar and water. However, you can also use a 2:1 ratio for a richer syrup, which is also called rich simple syrup.

It might seem like the rich syrup would be two times as sweet, but instead it is simply denser. 1.5 oz of 1:1 simple syrup translates to 1 oz of rich syrup. Because of the increase in sugar, rich simple syrup will last a bit longer in the fridge and have a thicker texture than simple syrup which is great in certain cocktails.

You can also save time by heating the water first, and then adding the sugar. You want it hot enough to melt the sugar but not boiling. I never remember to do this haha but maybe you will!

Keep an eye out for more Tuesday Tips, and don’t forget to send your questions in or suggest new Tuesday Tips topics!

Simple or Rich Cocktail Syrup
1. Weigh your ingredients. 1:1 sugar to water for simple syrup, and 2:1 sugar to water for rich syrup.
2. Heat the water in a sauce pan over medium high heat
3. Add sugar. Stir until it dissolves completely.
4. Remove the pan from the heat and let the syrup cool.
5. Store the syrup in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Even Simpler

1. An even simpler method is to add your sugar to a glass bottle, heat water in a kettle, pour into your bottle, and shake. I do kind of feel like the texture isn’t quite the same, but it is not super noticeable by any means and just fine for hosting and making cocktails for yourself.

Enjoy!

Had to do a new midnight margarita this year to celebrate my little art print that I made! Practical Magic is always one of the first autumn/spooky movies I watch every year, and this year was no different. I have loved the midnight margaritas scene since I first saw Practical Magic as a teenager! If you do want to recreate the scene, I do recommend that you avoid using tequila found on your doorstep from an ex that’s haunting you though. Really harshes the vibe.

Midnight Margaritas

2 oz tequila reposado

1 oz orange liqueur

1 oz lime juice

a handful of blackerries

lime to garnish

Muddle your handful of blackberries in a shaker, then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake well with ice and double strain to get a nice smooth margarita. Serve up in a coupe glass and dance the night away!

Prime day deals are here!! I’ve pulled together all the deals that are really interesting to me. As a lover of all things vintage, thrifted, and small business, I typically try to source most things for my bar secondhand and from small businesses. However, there are some items that a place like Amazon is really useful for. Keep an eye out for these items on Amazon Prime Days, August 10 and 11. I’ve got all the links in my stories and highlights, so don’t miss them!

In particular, Amazon is great for:

- funky glassware for a specific purpose - sometimes you need something funky or specific that you just can’t find locally, amazon has most of what you are looking for!
- bar tools - there are a few great small businesses for bar tools that are on amazon that you should check out, I especially love Bar supply co, viski, and Barfly.
- bar appliances - you can often find great deals on appliances that make your home bar life easier, like my gevi ice maker or my kitchenaid espresso machine
- storage and decor - you can find most anything you need for storage and decor, like my spice jars!
- ingredients - sometimes ingredients are hard to find locally, and amazon is a great place to supplement them!

Check out my favorites in stories!
