Summer event dresses under $50

These resort dresses are easy to wear and look designer for less!

Our guest room is ready for its first guests! I have eyed this Crate and Barrel bed for years and she doesn’t disappoint. Super heavy, high quality and that gorgeous iron frame is scrumptious. Sold out ATM so I linked a similar bed.

I went with lux bedding from West Elm. The end tables are Lulu & Georgia and there’s a matching dresser on the other side of the room. Amazon affordable decor adds the perfect touches like this under $100 swan artwork - a nod to my Grandma who had pet swans on her river house. The rug is my forever favorite neutral rug that can seriously go in every room from Loloi.

I’m still deciding on whether to paint the room / ceiling or do an accent wall behind the bed. What would you do?

I had an electrician hard wire the sconces and add switches next to each side of the bed for guests to easily turn on them on. They provide the perfect ambience!

A watermelon cake is a refreshing, healthy summer treat made entirely from fresh fruit. Here's a quick guide to create a three-layer watermelon cake with berries, mint, and grapes.
Ingredients:
1 large seedless watermelon
1 pint strawberries
1 pint blueberries
1 pint blackberries
1 bunch grapes
Fresh mint leaves
Toothpicks & Skewers

Instructions:
Prepare the Watermelon:
Cut off both ends of the watermelon for stability and remove the rind to form a smooth cylinder. Slice into three thick discs.
Assemble the Cake:
Stack the discs from largest to smallest on a platter, securing with skewers.
Decorate:
Wash and prepare the berries and grapes; arrange them on the cake for a cascading effect.
Garnish with Mint:
Add mint leaves for a fresh aroma.
Serve:
Chill until serving. Slice and enjoy!

DIY Ornaments

INSTRUCTIONS:

Pour a small amount of paint in ornament and shake until inside is coated. Line a muffin tin with liners & place ornaments upside down to dry. 20-30 minutes later apply temporary tattoo. Let dry again 24 hours.

If desired - you can apply a thin coat of mod podge over temp tattoo to seal & protect it. I like the satin finish mod lodge for this.
