One of my favorite parts about this home has been slowly bringing all the little things I love into our backyard.

It hasn’t happened overnight, & honestly… I think that’s what makes it so special.

Every season we add something new—a raised garden bed, flowers, a cozy place to sit, or a piece that makes us want to spend just a little more time outside. Before you know it, those little changes become the place where you drink your morning coffee, watch the garden grow, & end the day together.

These lounge chairs from @udpatioofficial are our newest addition, & I have a feeling they’ll be getting a lot of use this summer.

Here’s to romanticizing the everyday, enjoying summer a little slower, & creating a home you never want to leave. 🌿☀️

You’d never guess what I’m hiding inside this cabinet…

For years, our remotes seemed to disappear the second we needed them. They’d end up buried in cushions, scattered across the coffee table, or somehow vanish altogether.

This little cabinet from @decorsteals solved the problem while blending right into our back living room. I love pieces that are beautiful, but I love them even more when they earn their place in our home.

Sometimes the best storage solutions are the ones no one notices at all.

When we moved into this house, I kept imagining the kind of summer memories we’d make out here.

Morning coffee before the house wakes up. Time spent tending the garden. Family dinners that linger a little longer. Quiet evenings watching the sun set.

The patio had all the potential, but it needed a few finishing touches to become the summer backyard escape I had pictured.

With a little help from @plowhearth - this space finally feels complete. From the garden accents to the cozy outdoor touches, it’s become one of my favorite places to start the day & one of the last places I leave in the evening.

A few thoughtful additions can completely change the way you live in a space.

One of the least charming things in a kitchen? The trash can.

So when I found a handmade cabinet that disguises it completely, I knew it belonged in our cottage kitchen.

From the outside, it looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. Inside, it keeps our trash tucked out of sight, while the drawer above stores extra bags so they’re always within reach when it’s time for a replacement.

We all take out the trash. We all replace the bag. We all have those everyday tasks that aren’t exactly glamorous.

But I love finding ways to make even the most ordinary parts of daily life feel a little prettier, a little more functional, & a little more intentional.

Handcrafted in the USA by @amishoutdoors, this buttery yellow cabinet was worth the wait. It blends seamlessly into our kitchen, & most people never realize it’s actually a trash can until I open the door.

Functional & beautiful might just be my favorite combination.

One of my favorite parts of summer living on the coast is collecting shells & bringing a little piece of those beach days back home with me.

After seeing my friend Stephanie use candle sand, I instantly started thinking about how I could create my own cottage coastal version. A few locally collected oyster shells, candle sand, & wicks later, this simple summer centerpiece came to life.

The oyster shaped tray was handcrafted by a local potter, & I completely fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It felt like the perfect piece to pair with treasures collected along our Carolina coast.

I love finding ways to think outside the box with decorating, especially when the pieces tell a story.

And if you’re not visiting the coast this summer, don’t worry. I’ve found some shells for you friend. 🤍

One of my favorite ways to refresh a space for summer is with florals.

I kept our outdoor dining table simple this season with a weathered urn overflowing with white blooms and trailing greenery. Nothing complicated, just a few pieces that make the table feel ready for slow dinners, conversations that linger, and evenings spent under the pergola.

I’ve found that the simplest arrangements are often the ones I enjoy the most. They don’t compete with the space around them. They simply add a little beauty to everyday moments.
