Sharing a more classic nyc closet for once andd what I did to the space:

1) Editing and folding got a very divided wardrobe (between 2 closets) into one space

2) We had so many different packs of neutral hangers in this closet. In a perfect world, you’d reorder the same pack, but with more time, I’d organize the hangers from light to dark

3) The urge to subcategorize was real. I gave the closet owner some solid debate points and she decided on what you’re seeing. Subcategories knock from light to dark, then dark to light, and so on

Before I got into this closet, I’d give it an 8.5. Folding ofc needed a refresh, but there was too much sub-categorization going on that separated general categories and limit options when getting dressed

I typically organize a category by color and 1 other point of separation. Get too deep (summer vs light vs heavy vs ski sweaters vs hoodies with buttons vs zips vs pullovers) and it even looks like a mess typed out, so imagine how it looks in a closet. Or you don’t have to imagine because I’m showing you the difference in this before and after
