Whenever someone tells me they want to get into yoga, I always offer them to come to my class for free! . And when I do? I usually receive a myriad of excuses as to *why* this person just cannot come to my class. . The excuses? . “I’m bad at yoga.” “I’m not flexible enough for yoga.” “I would, but I really prefer a hard workout.” “I can’t even touch my toes.” “I’m just so not zen.” . Y’all. I’ve heard it all. I really have. So let me tell you something. Yoga is not, and will never be, about how flexible you are. Or how “good” you are at asanas. . Yoga asana IS a physical practice. PRACTICE. The more you do it, the better (and more flexible!) you become. Yoga asana is about giving yourself some grace. It’s about getting out of your head + into your body. . With yoga, it doesn’t matter if you can touch your toes, if your life is a mess, or if you are the least zen person on earth. What matters is making it to your mat. . If yoga is something that you’re interested in, and you’re in Chicago — I would love for you to be my guest and try a class with me! Not into the studio thing? That’s okay, too. I provide private instruction as well. . Send me a DM to snag a guest pass to class or set up a private session.
