I rarely venture out to the store anymore but I made a Trader Joe’s run the other day and their flowers are so beautiful and so inexpensive so I couldn’t resist. 🤍 A couple of years ago I found such a great hack on Pinterest for keeping hydrangeas from wilting, Alum. You can find it in the grocery store spice aisle. I cut the stems, then dip them in the Alum before I put them in the water. These are in day 3 and still looking so pretty! FYI- The Alum does tend to cloud up the water a bit, so you can see it in a clear glass vase. ☁️ http://liketk.it/2SV9C #liketkit @liketoknow.it

Thought it would be fun to do a home remodel series sharing some of my favorite before & afters, starting with the bathroom off the mudroom. As part of our remodel, we changed where you enter our home from the garage and had to re-locate our bathroom. I love these milestone cards with Walker’s monogram on them, and they are reversible so you can put their picture and monthly milestones on each card. One of the top questions I get asked is about our front door color (saved in my home highlights) but honestly it hasn’t held up very well in the outdoor elements, so I think we need to sand & repaint them. Picking baby gates was so hard for me. I didn’t love the look or style of many of them & I didn’t want something that was always there and in the way if we didn’t want to use them. I went to my girlfriend’s house for a play date and she had these amazing retract-a-gate baby gates. 👌🏻 We put four of them in - at the top & bottom of both sets of stairs and I couldn’t recommend them more! I love that they are hardly noticeable when we aren’t using them and they’ve worked really well for the boys. We created custom mounting pieces too, so we didn’t have to drill them into our banister. I think we’ve decided that P is going to move out of his nursery and into his big boy bedroom once baby arrives. I had so much fun designing this space for him before he was born, it feels like it was just yesterday. 🐘🦒🐒 We debated having three nurseries because P still loves his room + crib, but ultimately decided to make a fun new big boy room for him. We are transforming our guest room into his new room and I hope he loves it! Swipe to see where we are starting... Piecing Walt’s nursery back together after painting it a new soft blue. This was my first DIY paint job and I learned so much. Mostly that the YouTube videos about painting make it look SO quick + simple.... 10 hours later I was finishing my second coat and could barely move I was so sore 🤰🏼. Not sure if I’ll be using those two gallons of chantilly lace I bought for the new baby’s nursery anytime soon. Between nesting & quarantine, I’ve been trying to tackle lots of house projects to keep distracted + busy when I’m able. Today I did our front door spring planters reusing the birch branches from our winter planters and just added some faux cherry blossom stems I had on hand. So simple, but makes a big difference!
