Yesterday was the first nice day out and also despite wearing and reapplying sunscreen, my first burn of the season🤦🏼‍♀️ it has been a struggle friends!
I noticed last year that despite using MD grade sunscreens they weren’t lasting and I was still getting burned. Last July, I even ended up blistering on my face. I never made the connection that my autoimmunes could be the culprit and that with age it all gets worse until I read an article my doctor’s office sent out. It made sense, especially after having people constantly tell me I need to wear sunscreen or I am not wearing the right sunscreen. No. I am. My body just eats it up in fifteen to thirty minutes and I end up burned.
It is frustrating, especially as someone who loves the beach and sun and summer is literally my happy time.
Finding this out was definitely a bummer, but it also gives me the tools I need to better protect myself. I won’t stop beachin’ and haven’t stopped living especially after my diagnoses, but I’ll definitely take better pecautions because no one wants to look like a lobster🥰🦞 thanks for coming to my ted talk!🤪 stay safe out there friends and enjoy the sun, but remember sunscreen!
