I asked my contractor how much he would charge to build something like this. He told me $5K-$6k and I said hold my beer💁🏾‍♀️ ok, I don’t drink beer, but you get my point😂 I know time is a huge factor in “cost” but thats why it’s called sweat equity.

Do you think it was worth it? Would you have guessed it cost more or less?

You guys remember when I had the wall taken down on my stairs a couple of months back? Well,my husband said I got the stairs done just so I can hang my garland in time for Christmas. Swipe for the before and then swipe for my response to him. Why can’t people mind their business? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Save this post if you are trying to be the hostess woth mostess! Switching from one love (DIY) to a new found one (bartending) I’m making good use of my basement bar. I made a Jolly Margarita using a few ingredients. It can be made pitcher size or individually:

Individual glass:
1.5-2oz ounces tequila, silver or white. My favs are @drinkrancho or @1800tequila
1 ounce @cointreau_us
3 ounces white cranberry juice
1 ounce lime juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup (optional to taste)
Garnish with:
Fresh Cranberries
Rosemary Sprig
Lime Wedge

Pitcher
3/4 cup tequila, silver or white
1/2 cup @cointreau_us
1 1/2 cups white cranberry juice
1/2 cup lime juice
1/3 cups simple syrup (based on your taste)

I added ice to the shaker so my drink was chilled but you can add ice to the glass if you desire as well!

When putting together my gift bags, I picked items that my friends could actually use! Each person also got 1-2 additional items that were specific to them, so @jessiethecreator got the Himalayan salt wrap, but @bk_monroe got some sunglasses that were so her, along with some specialty pepper sauces.

The base of everyones bag included:
@touchland hand sanitizers
@mukluks burgundy socks that we threw on that evening
@scrubdaddy and Scrub Mommy sponges because we are grown and love these things!
@astidocg_world Mignonette mini bottles of wine. These are the perfect size for a gift bag and taste so good!!

Gift bags don’t have to be complicated. They just need to make sense and be stuff that ppl will actually use!

Swipe to see the evolution of the basement bathroom from one large concrete box to split spaces, one that became a butler’s pantry and the other side became the cutest speakeasy, boutique style bathroom. I still can’t believe that I built this space myself. The tile alone still has me in like “girl what were you thinking.” But with a $15,000 quote, that was enough at least me try. But this custom door I got made for the basement is so cute but it was too plain. I originally wanted a pocket door but all my electrical ran on one side of the wall and the concrete foundation was on the other, so instead of being sad, we made it work and I love it!
