This is the one holiday treat that completely disappears every year! Saltine Cracker Toffee (aka Christmas Crack)! My friend Natalie taught me how to make it when we were in podiatry school, and I’ve made it every Christmas since. It’s so easy, buttery, and addicting… there’s never a crumb left! ✨ Here’s how to make it: Ingredients: 1 sleeve Saltine crackers (about 40) 1 cup (2 sticks) butter 1 cup brown sugar 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Optional: sprinkles, chopped nuts, or crushed peppermint Instructions: 1️⃣ Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper (yes I forgot 😅) and spray with nonstick. 2️⃣ Arrange Saltines in a single layer. 3️⃣ In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes (stir constantly). 4️⃣ Pour the now caramel mixture over crackers and spread evenly. 5️⃣ Bake at 400°F for 5–6 minutes, until bubbly. 6️⃣ Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let melt, then spread evenly. 7️⃣ Add toppings if desired, then chill until firm. 8️⃣ Break into pieces and try not to eat the whole tray. 🎁 Perfect for holiday parties, gifting, or cookie exchanges! 💬 Comment TOFFEE and I’ll send you the links to supplies needed! 📲 Follow @makingfrugalfun for more frugal + festive recipes and DIY ideas all season long!
