Let’s get dressed because it stopped raining because by the time I stepped outside, the sun was playing tricks. Regardless, I was so happy I got to wear this cute skirt again as it made the carry on for a reason. Simple not boring. There’s an ease in keeping an outfit quiet and letting the accessories carry out the look.

5 years ago, I used to buy something new every time I went on vacation, not because of lack of clothes but because I kept thinking that new meant better. I’ve learned that I didn’t need more. I just needed to find the right version of what I already had. I took a step back and looked at my closet in a different way so I could create new looks with my favorite pieces already hanging in my closet. Interesting didn’t mean more, it meant and it means being intentional.

Now, I find myself buying less and finding joy again in creating outfits that I can wear again and again and be happy with it.

Not every day is easy, just like everyone else, I struggle some days as I work from home so switching from my workout gear is sometimes not in the cards as I don’t have the energy to think about it while I multitask everything else.

Sticking to a routine and being consistent though is an immediate mood boost even in the down days. Just like I feel better after making my bed and working out, putting something on I like and feel good about it, changes my mood and carries my day on a more positive note so I can take on whatever comes at me with a better attitude.

Even on vacation, sometimes I would just put on my lounge outfit all day because I didn’t want to put on something new/fresh jut and o go out to eat but when I do, it makes me happier, I packed it for a reason so now everything in the carry on gets worn, sometimes multiple times because space and pairing it with fresh eyes.
