Morning walks with a little more intention. I did a lot of research before committing to a weighted vest & the design details matter way more than I expected going in. A vest that sits close to the body with minimal bulk keeps the weight distributed evenly so it’s not shifting around as you move. That translates to better posture, more consistent load through your core & legs, & way less pressure on your shoulders. Small design differences, but a real functional payoff. If you’re trying to figure out which weight to start with, the general guideline is to choose a vest that’s around 5-10% of your body weight. At 5’8” & 120 lbs, that puts me right in the 6-12 lb range, so the 8 lb option was the sweet spot for me. It’s enough to feel the added resistance without compromising your form or putting unnecessary stress on your joints.
