Today is a big day for a lot of reasons - and they all center around God’s grace and goodness. Today we had Landry’s annual EEG to *hopefully* get the go-ahead to wean her off her #epilepsy meds for the first time in almost two years. For those who don’t know or are new around here, when Landry was 6 months old she was diagnosed with a rare and devastating form of childhood epilepsy called Infantile Spasms. All the research is different but most say that around 80% of kids with IS go on to be globally delayed and around 70% will have future seizure types. Bleak. Harsh. Unlikely odds. World turned upside down. Most IS kids I’ve heard of don’t respond well to the few treatments there are out there - Landry stopped having seizures within a day of starting her medication. Most IS kids are severely delayed and struggle with the most basic tasks - Landry is ahead in all areas. She’s hilarious, smart, and honestly a walking miracle. Our God is so mighty. He is so gracious and kind. His healing hand touched our girl. His peace and comfort touched my fearful spirit. His might and glory have been shone through our baby girl’s story. (Seriously always think it’s stellar He chose me to be a part of such a story of healing and kindness!)
