I can’t believe I’m sharing this with the Gram but that’s what this community is for, right? The past few days mom life has been UGLY. Like, YIKES, y’all. Emotions have been high and sleep has been little. The terrible twos truly are kicking our butt 👎🏼

Yesterday I reached my breaking point and honestly I thought about skipping out on our swim class (@aquakidsmckinney) because L was just a pain to be around. I probably was too... 🥴 But man, I’m glad we went!

Everyone at @aquakidsmckinney loves Landry so well and always brings a smile to her face! They give her so much individualized instruction and all the attention she could ever want. And mama gets a needed 30 minute quiet time too 😉 So this is your reminder to find a break! Whether it be swim, or Mother’s Day Out, or gymnastics - WHATEVER is available and affordable for you to save your sanity.

All in all - mamas - you’re allowed to have hard days. Heck, you’ll have hard weeks. But when you’re in the trenches find something that helps BOTH of you. And most of all, remember that THIS IS A PHASE AND IT GETS BETTER!

When the third trimester hits you take a few more glamorous bumpies and question when your little guy will make his debut 🤰🏻

What’s your guess for his birthday? I go back and forth between April 3rd and the 17th! (My official due date is April 28th!)

In the second trimester we....
✨ ate a lot of @chickfila breakfast
✨ had a few too many Braxton Hicks
✨ became obsessed with @liquidiv and @crumblcookies 🍪😋
✨ had a preterm labor scare at 24 weeks and visited L&D twice
✨ basically lived in constant pain

But it’s all so very worth it! Can’t wait to meet our sunshine boy ☀️

Today is a big day for a lot of reasons - and they all center around God’s grace and goodness. Today we had Landry’s annual EEG to *hopefully* get the go-ahead to wean her off her #epilepsy meds for the first time in almost two years.

For those who don’t know or are new around here, when Landry was 6 months old she was diagnosed with a rare and devastating form of childhood epilepsy called Infantile Spasms. All the research is different but most say that around 80% of kids with IS go on to be globally delayed and around 70% will have future seizure types. Bleak. Harsh. Unlikely odds. World turned upside down.

Most IS kids I’ve heard of don’t respond well to the few treatments there are out there - Landry stopped having seizures within a day of starting her medication. Most IS kids are severely delayed and struggle with the most basic tasks - Landry is ahead in all areas. She’s hilarious, smart, and honestly a walking miracle.

Our God is so mighty. He is so gracious and kind. His healing hand touched our girl. His peace and comfort touched my fearful spirit. His might and glory have been shone through our baby girl’s story. (Seriously always think it’s stellar He chose me to be a part of such a story of healing and kindness!)
