Ok but what if I told you the best meet cute of my life never led to a date…but it did lead me to meeting my best friend of now 17 years? If you want a meet cute, you have to be open to a meet cute just being whatever connection is meant to happen in your life. If we fixate on it being for just to meet a specific person a specific way, all serendipity goes out the window. There’s no room for it to come in. We romanticize the meet cute as it being just about meeting our person, but the magic of the meet cute is that you had no expectations of a connection you have with a person. My bestie and I met sitting at the gate of a @southwestair at LAX when we were 18 years old flying back to Kansas. It was weird to randomly make small talk at the gate when it would’ve been more normal to just keep the headphones in (on the iPod LOL and not make eye contact with anyone) And if it really is that date that you want, what if the random person you’re about to avoid small talk with is the person who ends up introducing you to them? I know you don’t want anyone to talk to you, make small talk with you, you just want that rom com perfect moment and that be the only person you have to interact with. But what if you opened up to just letting life unfold and embracing the random connections we could make out in the wild?
