I’ve dreamed of doing this exact project since I was a kid—seriously! I remember going to a birthday party in elementary school and seeing a salon bathroom covered in magazine pages. I was obsessed from the second I saw it. Fast-forward to now, and I finally got my chance! 🤩 We needed to give our Airbnb bathroom a glow-up, but we were on a budget—so I got creative. I realized this was the moment to bring that childhood idea to life! And lucky for us, we have a subscription to @charlestonmag , which gave me the perfect materials. Plus, @hermosajewelry generously sent over TWO boxes of old issues to help me out. 🙌 Here’s how I created our DIY Charleston Magazine wallpaper: ⬇️ 1️⃣ Prep the walls – Wipe them down and make sure they’re clean and dry. 2️⃣ Layout – Play around with the pages to figure out your layout. I didn’t have enough covers to do just those, so I mixed in my favorite articles, flashbacks, and standout photos for a layered look. 3️⃣ Apply with Mod Podge – Use a paintbrush to spread a thin layer of @modpodgecrafts (I used the satin finish) to the wall, then place the clipping. Don’t overdo it—you just need enough for it to stick without tearing the paper. 4️⃣ Smooth it out – Press each piece onto the wall and smooth it out with a squeegee or a credit card. Heads up: the glue dries fast, so place it carefully! 5️⃣ Seal it – Once everything’s in place, seal it with polycrylic using a FOAM roller (this is key to avoiding bubbles). I skipped polyurethane since it can yellow over time, and I wanted to keep the colors bright and true! We trimmed each piece with a paper cutter to make them uniform, but also cut a few into different shapes to wrap around windows and maintain the flow. The best part? It’s totally customizable, one-of-a-kind, and SO fun to create. I can’t wait to show you the full reveal soon! 🩵 What do you think so far?! diy diywallpaper magazinewallpaper diyonabudget charlestonmagazine bathroomrenovation bathroomdiy bathroominspirationdiyprojectsideas modpodge
