I wrapped up a super fun weekend with a few hours in Chicago! I got to the city with plenty of time to spare before my flight, so I drove over to the iconic bean statue! A total stranger and I swapped photos for each other, and she was SO nice crouching down and putting in work to get the best angles 😂 unlike Drew who gives me 17 chins! 🤦🏼‍♀️ so glad I got to come, Chicago is beautiful! My little girl is a fire cracker! In the span of about 30 minutes she -
- Fed all her food to the dogs
- Climbed on top of the table and cleared everything off of it
- Ate part of a stick of butter and squished the rest in between her fingers
- Squeezed as much of the bath soap as she could into the water

She sure is cute though! 😉 I love toddler life as crazy as it is!

I had such a good workout today!!! I’ve been falling back in love with fitness and working out after a longgg period of inconsistency with exercising. At times it gets frustrating thinking about how far I am from the strength I used to have back in my Marine Corps days, but it feels so good to push myself and come to work out because I ENJOY it, vs. feeling like I have to meet a standard set upon me. Being the best version of YOURSELF is the most important thing!

I would so encourage you to find a class, or some type of fitness that you *like* to do! 💪🏼🏃🏼‍♀️ it will make you feel so good and propel you forward with momentum to use in the rest of your day!

Plus.... an excuse to buy cute athletic wear! 😅🙈 i died when I saw these nike toddler shorts and had to get a picture since I have the same ones!

I love a good matching moment, but I have to say I was distracted in this photo by this insane heat Texas has been getting! ☀️💦💧these last few days have been BRUTAL! I tried to go on a short walk today and turned around and went back 5 minutes in because it was so bad. I was dripping sweat, Isla was beat red... I can’t wait for fall needless to say! 🍂🍁 (which we might be lucky to get in October!)

I was thinking recently about how I’m a very sweaty person, (this is relevant, I swear! 😂) and how hard it is to dress cute in this 10,000 degree weather. It’s hard for me to throw a jean jacket or other cute layers on when I know I’m going to be soaked in sweat shortly after. Im willing to do a lot of things for fashion and beauty, but feeling like I’m gonna pass out is where I draw the line! 🤣

I’m new to the blogging world, and many experts recommend finding a “niche” - something that you write about and cater your posts to... I think I found mine!!! Hot weather friendly, light weight, cute outfits for sweaty people like me! 😅🤪

Drew is still fired from being an Instagram husband for not telling me I had mascara smeared everywhere moments after this was taken 🤦🏼‍♀️😅🙈 but I decided to post the super unflattering (in my opinion) photo he took anyway, because you know what - I believe women need to WEAR THE DANG SUIT 👙

I was excited to take a picture in my new swimsuit I got that my friend @stacieleeborges_mua recommended, (it’s only $17! 🤩) and when I looked at my phone only after getting out of the pool I immediately was like “ugh, babe really?” when I saw the result he had gotten.

I was bummed for a minute, but then I got to thinking. I love and support so many body positivity influencers, and I thought to myself, “if I really believe their message, doesn’t the same apply to me?”

I’ve had some unhealthy patterns of behavior with my weight before, and I’ll be darned if I pass that on to my sweet beautiful girl. I’m not going to be the mom that sits on the sidelines and plays small. I know now through my faith in Jesus that my worth is not in my body, weight or appearance and as long as I’m the best version of ME I can be, that’s all I need 🙏🏼

EVERY body is a bikini body, and you should love and honor yourself just as you are - TODAY! Wear the dang suit friends! These moments aren’t waiting 🥰💕

Something I am super excited about is, I am now on @liketoknow.it !!!! It may seem like something silly to get excited over, but I’ve followed a lot of bloggers and YouTubers on there for a long time now, and have gotten so much outfit and home decor inspiration from their feeds. I’m still super early on in blogging, but this feels like such a milestone to get accepted by @rewardstyle!

After getting out of the military 2.5 years ago, I felt like I really struggled to find my “style”. Wearing a uniform constantly 5 or more days a week left little time in “civvies” (regular clothes) and on my days off I would most often lounge around the house in workout clothes & baggy sweats. It was a big occasion to get dressed up, and clothes were never something I spent a lot of time on! I know a lot of girls out there are probably feeling the same way, even if their circumstances are a bit different!

Lately though, I’m really enjoying finding cute things and feeling good about what I’m wearing, I think it makes such a difference! BUT I definitely consider myself a FRUGAL shopper! You don’t have to spend a lot to feel & look good. Everything I’m wearing is under $30, even my shoes! I’m excited to start sharing more affordable outfits, and hopefully inspiring you to feel good in what you’re in as well!
